Fotografo bostoniano que fué uno de los primeros fotografos que trabajó para la "Farm Security Administration".
Fotografió la muerte y los efectos de las guerras en Europa y Asia.
Fué capturado junto con su mujer por las tropas japonesas en Filipinas durante un año, hasta ser intercambiado como prisionero de guerra.
En Francia fotografió las mujeres francesas rapadas por la poblacion  por haber tenido relaciones con los alemanes y los efectos de la bomba nuclear en Hiroshima.

Fotografo trances nacillo en Gentilly, cerca de Paris, formado en litografia y tipografia, su trabajo fotografico se crea de forma autodidacta leyendo las cajas de emusion para revelar.
Se introduce al arte fotografico de la mano del escultor, pintor y fotógrafo André Vigneau, del que Doisneau reconocer que fue su gran influencia en una epoca en la que la fotografia no tenia la difusion grafica que hoy conocemos. Mas tarde conoceria a Man Ray, Henri Cartier-Bresson y Robert Capa,
Sus primeros trabajos era fotografia publicitaria para la automovilistica Renault hasta que fue despedido por sus faltas de ausencia. Doisneau contaba que obedecer y adaptarse a la rutina, no iba con él.
Tras la crisis de los años 30, escasos de encargos fotograficos. Se alista en la resistencia francesa y se dedica a fotografias la ocupacion del Paris de los años 40 por los nazis.
La decada de los 50 se vive la euforia de la derrota a Alemania y junto con una pareja de arte dramatico realiza la mas famosa de sus fotyografias, y por ende de Paris. "Kiss by the Hotel de Ville 1950" se constituye como la foto del Paris del amor, reportandole grades beneficios, incluso hoy en dia.
Realizó su ultima foto en 1993 y en abril de 1994 murio.

Fotografo y musico y ilustrador ucraniano nacido en Kiev bajo el nombre "Jacob Ovcharov in Voroshilovka" cuya familia emigró a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania en el año 1923.
Su primera camara la compró en Europa al serle otorgada una beca de viaje.
En 1941 viaja a Puerto Rico para realizar un trabajo para la "Farm Security Administration"  y decide quedarse a vivir en el pais. Puerto Rico conforma un giro radical a su vida. A partir de ahí se pone a trabajar para la "División de la Comunidad del Departamento de Educación Pública" que realiza peliculas y compone para ellas. Dirigió la pelicula "Los peloteros" sobre los niños pobres y su amor por el Beisball, siendo uno de los grandes clasicos del cine Portoriqueño hoy dia.
Compuso desde canciones hasta ballet y edito e ilustró numerosos libros.
Su partitura para la película "Desde las nubes" demuestra un uso temprano de las técnicas electrónicas.
